Kiha66
Finally received my kato 700 series, it went missing in the post for a month or so. Still, got a good deal on it and I enjoyed the 10 minutes or so I spent on the real thing. Now I just need a suitable place to run it... 2 Link to comment
serotta1972
Finally received my kato 700 series Now I just need a suitable place to run it... Hey Kihan66, whereabouts are you in California? There's an Ntrak club with a permanent setup in Crocket, California and they welcome folks to bring their own trains and run them. I've ran a couple of my Japanese trains there and it's plenty big for a 16 car 700. They've recently converted to DCC but left one track for DC. Very low key club and more often than not, there's only a couple of gentlemen there. 2 Link to comment

Welshbloke
Cute! Does that mean getting 2 of each will enable you to build a full 8-car train? N-scalers green with envy.... Depends if the Evangelion version is the same as the earlier model. The Kodama box sets (A and B) would either make one cab coach and an intermediate, or two centre cars. You could indeed build an eight car set with two of each, I've ended up with a five car set (one coach is an interesting conglomerate of two types, and the cab car at one end is wrong) which looks ok, but obviously I wish I'd managed to find a couple of As to get it right. The good news is that if I do ever manage to bag at least one I can pop the "wrong" coaches apart and reassemble them with the correct parts, as they're just pushed together. Link to comment

JR 500系
A little parcel from Ami Ami today... Their usual postcard is always a welcoming sight.. Some minor items Got this from their bargain section, really a steal! Figured I need a Tobu 8000 series anyway... It looks quite good! And the Kintetsu 21020 Urban Liner Next, 50th Anniversary series. This looks really nice! The 50th Anniversary logo of direct transit from Osaka to Nagoya... Looks really nice! And now, some complains I have regarding the Green Max model... Now this model looks really nice, but the quality of the model made it look kinda 'plastic'... It lacks the substantial weight and feel of what we get with Tomix, Kato or MA... It looks ok from the outside, but when you look carefully... There's a HUGE empty nothingness there.... ugly... The seats arrangement are empty on the front and rear... But fortunately there are steel plates which that interior lights could be fitted. Previous models lack these and an additional steel plate kit needs to be purchased in order to install interior lights.. Nevertheless... It is a beautiful model! Dang those Kintetsu bug bites hard... NXCALE
Hi all. While I was putting plastic covers to some new magazines, I decided to take a couple of pictures before I forget. Two of them are thumbs up and the other two just fine. p.s. When I ordered these, I also tried to get one of the " Kokusai Tetsudo Mokei Convention 2015" but it was sold out... 2 Link to comment

Yes, I just saw that there are available copies. Since I haven't bought anything from amazon.jp yet, which would the best option be? The buyee website (I haven't used it before, I am just checking now how it works) or just trying to get through amazon.jp by myself? or maybe there are other options? At first sight, it looks quite daunting trying to get something from amazon.jp. Anyway, I will keep checking information about it. Link to comment

It works fine. I always have to prepay the import taxes when ordering, but that way your parcel doesn't get stuck at the customs control and gets delivered faster. For other things, I use Tenso.com, which is the same company as Buyee, to order on amazon.co.jp. Works fine too. Edited March 27, 2016 by splifdfx Link to comment

Welshbloke
Amazon UK's Marketplace is often a surprisingly good hunting ground for Japanese N. There's someone selling the Tomytec Chichibu Railway 1000 Series (ex-JNR 101 Series) in assorted colours for £16 including P&P at the moment, amongst others. 1 Link to comment
railsquid
Not a bad price... I stumbled on some photos I'd taken of the real things a few years back, going to have to get some now... Link to comment

Welshbloke
Not a bad price... I stumbled on some photos I'd taken of the real things a few years back, going to have to get some now... Funnily enough mine turned up today. There's apparently another parcel at the post office which I'm hoping is my pile of pantographs for the Tomytec fleet. Also opened and fitted a TM-14 under my 107 Series. I think I've seen yellow, blue, orange, and yellow with black/brown stripe versions of the Chichibu 1000 Series, all were about the same price when I bought mine or for a few pounds more you could have a green one. You'll also need a TM-08 chassis, a pack of TT-03 trailer wheels and a pack of 0230 pantographs to complete it, I have all of those on order save the motorised chassis, which I'll be ordering next month. And I'm now looking interestedly at the bright red Wakayama Electric Railway 2270. This is a 17m unit using the TM-05 chassis. Anyone know what the minimum radius is for those? Only if they can handle a 150mm curve my pair of Kato Getaden might be about to gain a shed mate... Edited March 29, 2016 by Welshbloke Link to comment

How's that for fast! 27 minutes is plenty of time to write an email ;) Not sure if it was the same supplier, but when I ordered some lights the initial response was very quick, but still took the better part of 3 weeks for the parts to arrive (presumably on the slow boat from China). No issues with the product itself. 2 Link to comment
