What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

No worries man! I am so glad you loved the train and the model set! The 500 series is truly what defines speed and the most sleek and beautiful train in the world! (In my opinion) Now your Tokaido/ Sanyo series is more or less complete

Indeed.. the 500 series idea from a king fisher picking up fishes from the river... The way its beak hits the water and streamlines in is what drives the concept of the 500 series to enter the tunnel and avoid the 'bomming' sound ~~

Not just your opinion jr500,I could nt agree more!

It s beautiful.

It is~~ I'm glad there are more fans to the 500 series now! :)

And just for the record this train is the reason I chose to do a Japanese layout!,,,post-2329-0-53011000-1458213283_thumb.jpeg

Nobody will ever convince me that this does nt look like an aircraft fuselage!

Hi serotta,

This was the very first Japanese train I bought and it s still my favourite,I work in the aircraft industry and if you look at a picture of the real thing head on,then imagine a plane with no wings on it,they look the same, they definitely used the same technology when designing it,the aerodynamics are unbelievable,it s awesome looking! Just wish I could get an add on set for mine!!

Have a look on the Amazon UK marketplace, if yours is Tomix then there are sellers in Japan offering both A and B add-on packs.

I should probably order an A sooner rather than later. Mine had got up to a somewhat motley six car set (three car basic, two of the extra coaches and the second powered coach) then I found the B pack on there for about £40 so it's now ten cars, but with only one pantograph. Since spotted the A for about £60, maybe next month...

DHL just dropped off a nice Tomix EF66 (new JRF colour)

Actually not such a nice colour imho, but it goes well with my JRF container cars.

@JR 500

That's a really neat model. I just got my first GreenMax model this week and their quality is pretty great.

I do like those GreenMax VHS cassette boxes btw :P

Hi all.

While I had some unexpected time out from the forum (and probably more of it coming soon), I got the TOMIX 5591.

I had this item in mind since I saw it in my first Tomix catalogue a couple of years ago.

Cheers and good luck!

Oooohhhh nice nxcale! Always wanted one of those! The picture signal looks to be quite nice going thru the tracks. Can't wait for a review! Perhaps you might want to write a review up on it for the jrm website!

Cheers,

Jeff

My latest batch of pre order goods from AmiAmi, some parts that will eventually be used for a small locomotive depot, also included is a KiYa 97 and Koki 106's to add to my fleet, time to get the decal sheet out as well as the test track to check the tailights in action.

Oh a plain Koki 106?  That is lucky!

I also got one of them last year when they were re released, temptation got the better of me to get another one since I can renumber it using the decals in #8703, sadly AmiAmi only had one of the #2769's left in stock as I would have got some more.

Got 11 used right hand #4 unitrack switches for around $60 on ebay, not sure if they come with the S60L and S60R pieces as well tho.

Also picked up an Kato Rural Station and Rural Station Platform set on the cheep, should go well with my Kiha 82 set.

I've always liked Kato's Rural Station based on its traditional Japanese appearance, price, and apparent ease of assembly.  Looks great with lights, too.  http://rios.co/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/rioswing_kato_rural_station_01.jpg

I would have purchased it by now if I owned trains that would prototypically stop there; as things are, my shinkansen/limited expresses would look odd at a rural station.  I should really  try to add some Kihas to the fleet this year.

Thanks Jeff. By the way, I have tested this item and it works very well.

About the review, I will be glad to make one for the JMR website (and/or one for the JNS forum).

I will put my pc to work/translate the manual sheets to see if there is some interesting information to comment.

So, I will be putting some ideas together after completing some additional testing and getting some of the info translated.

Will you get the imperial car for the Nagomi as well?

Of course, I may just wait for the release of that one next month though! [emoji16]

A new addition to my Steam Locomotive and Passenger Cars Fleet:

Tomix 2008 - C57 1 and Tomix 92594 - Coaches Series 12 "Yamaguchi"

What a stunning locomotive and coaches making for a beautify train, it seems like I'm going further and further back in time.  Just when I thought I was beginning to have some focus on my collection something else tickles my fancy.

Once I get the Kato C50 and the coaches, that's it no more Steam Trains - I swear!  :)

I have an Iida line itch to scratch...

attachicon.gifIMG_20160324_220148.JPG

Ahhh, that's better!

Thankfully for my wallet I am limiting my Iida Line fetish on contemporary stock, the amount of models coming up for release would make a major hole in it, I would love to get my hands on a 313-1300 Series or 313-3000 Series to add to my fleet but sadly none are available. Edited by Das Steinkopf

I have the earlier version (two set B's, as everyone had sold out of the A's by the time I was interested). If you plan to motorise it then fit two powered chassis, a single one can't handle the weight but it'll run sweetly after that.

Cute! Does that mean getting 2 of each will enable you to build a full 8-car train?

N-scalers green with envy....
