HantuBlauLOL
Houston, we got a problem here. One of my train's motor is shorting randomly. I think the commutator inside were dirty. How to fix it? It's a Tomix can motor with 2 flywheels, used in the first release of 800系 shinkansen afaik. But first, how can I detach the flywheels? I can't open the motor with the flywheels still attached. Guest Closed Account 1
The motors are unserviceable. If the commutator is dirty or indeed worn then it's time to replace the motor assembly/ Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
Actually I've fixed it, the motor axle was bent, and the plastic cap were loose.. Link to comment
cteno4
Hugh, Did it take a drop while out of the car? Good to hear you were able to fix it! Many of these motors don't dissassembe gracefully. You can try using contact cleaner (a plastic safe one) and spray the motor out well a few times as a last resort. Some have brought back old motors by soaking them in various cleaners when really mucked up. Jeff Link to comment
