India to buy 200 electric locomotives from Japan

India will buy 200 electric locos from Japan.  30 will be built in Japan, the rest in India.  Apparently the bid specifies a reliability metric, one in-service breakdown per 200k kilometers.  No doubt the Japanese tech and quality is very good, but certainly reliability is a result of good maintenance, at least in part.  Will these get it?  Anyway, it will be interesting to see an EF510 in broad gauge. :)
