miyakoji
India will buy 200 electric locos from Japan. 30 will be built in Japan, the rest in India. Apparently the bid specifies a reliability metric, one in-service breakdown per 200k kilometers. No doubt the Japanese tech and quality is very good, but certainly reliability is a result of good maintenance, at least in part. Will these get it? Anyway, it will be interesting to see an EF510 in broad gauge. :) http://www.railjournal.com/index.php/locomotives/japan-to-supply-indian-freight-corridor-locos.html 3 Link to comment
