velotrain
Perhaps the most ubiquitous aspect of Japanese railway photos is the ever-present yellow and black safety stripes, on crossing gates and anything else that some railway bureaucrat can imagine might be improved by them. I've seen enough of these on models to be quite certain that they're not painted by hand, but wonder if there is some tape with this pattern, or are these decals or a dry transfer? I've never seen any product listed on a dealer site, and confused one dealer by asking if he knew of a source for them. Are they included with some kits, or just where do guys get them? kvp
Most Tomytec kits come pre painted, with stripes and everything. You just put them down wherever you want them. Also it's easy to paint them on other kits yourself if you know how to use masking tape and have an airbrush. Some kits come with self adhesive stickers that you just have to stick on the models. For example this comes pre painted and just have to be assembled: Link to comment
velotrain
Thanks for the info. It was this image that first got me curious, as they don't look painted. http://www.1999.co.jp/blog/img/20120831jam17.jpg I'm guessing they were stickers from kits - it doesn't look like any were used in this ;-) Would you know if there are any sources to buy just the stickers? Seems like it would be a useful product. Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
You can buy some decal papers and print as many as you can.. Link to comment
