NGT6 1315
Morning all! I've been trying to understand the design parameters of JR diesel trains, but not speaking Japanese, I had to rely on Google translations of Japanese Wikipedia articles, which of course are notoriously cryptic... I understand Japanese rolling stock builders mainly utilise diesel-hydraulic propulsion for DMUs. But, for one, are there diesel-electric trains as well? As for those types which are diesel-hydraulic, do these have motor bogies with only one or with two powered wheelsets (or do both forms exist)? And finally, about the KiHa 183 sets, specifically the "standard" variants as opposed to the various Joyful Train sets: I understand these were re-engined during their careers. How much power output per car do they have at present? Thanks for any replies! :) Dom Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
DF200, HD300, and kiya E991 used diesel, electric. But only DF200 uses a pure diesel electric, the another is hybrids 1 Link to comment
