scott
Anybody know of any nice models of Japanese single-unit electric railcars--not streetcars or trams, but double-cabbed single units for regular railway use? Link to comment
Guest ___
I think JR Kyushu can run their 415's as single cars. The 415 is the electric version of the Kiha 40. I had seen the 415 electrics both as single cab for EMU as well as double ended for single operation. When making my watermarks on the Kyushu page, I mislabeled a lot of the 413's as 40 becasue they were double ended and I failed to notice the cantanry on the roof. (I also mislabeled a bunch of 415's as 40's for the exact opposite reason) Link to comment
Tenorikuma
I've noticed JR's 119 on the Handa line being run as a single car sometimes. I like the Tokai colour scheme and I'm keeping my eye out for one in stores. (Greenmax makes it but all the local stores I've checked so far only have non-motorized carriages in stock.) http://www003.upp.so-net.ne.jp/nanakubo/119_jrc.htm Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Thinking of prototypes of single unit electrics, these come to mind: http://tran.sakura.ne.jp/jrc/123.html http://railf.jp/car/jr/west/125.html The 125 series are one of my favorites (JR West has the best designs, IMO). It seems Green Max has a model of this, based on a prototype that runs on a decidedly "presidential" route http://www.greenmax.co.jp/Product/GMjr125obama.htm Link to comment
