cteno4
Hantu, You can also make your ttrak modules what ever length you want as long as you make two of them the same size and have them on either side of a loop so everything evens out! Simplest way to make the odd unitrak length is to cut out the nessary amount from the roadbed somewhere in the center of a piece, mthen slide one end of the roadbed down until the touch the other one and glue. The clip off the overhanging rail ends. 45.5 are about the smallest you want on the ends to get it attached down well as these ends take a lot of torque and shear. Jeff 1 Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
yeah, but if our N scale guys wanted to make modules in a train show it would be problematic if wasn't standarized.. on the other side, i've been messing around with some papercraft designs, i built a 1/150 Eurofighter Typhoon paper model. the template is from here http://ojimak.web.fc2.com/hanger.html Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
One step ahead! the module will be 1240mm x 355mm. am i right about the platform (yellow) placement? its about 400mm x 15mm. the canopy (green) is 133mm x 19mm. not sure abput the building yet, can anyone help? thanks! HantuBlauLOL
long time no update.. i gave up on the hokuhoku line diorama, don't have any space left. so i built a new smaller module instead, based on tanahabang-serpong line in Indonesia about 12 years ago. here it is so far: just rails and some terrain work added ground cover added some greens ballasted (finally!) this module still needs some weathering (especially near the rails) and many trees.. 3 Link to comment
katoftw
Looks good. If twelve years ago. Needs more shanty huts and people positioned too close and unsafely near the tracks. I really need to get layout sorted like you have. I have running trains on 30mm of foam. And the scenery just gone nowhere. Link to comment

And the scenery just gone nowhere. nope, this spot was too deep inside a forest. (without a tree, yet. :laughing3: ) you should start on scenery someday.. it really changes the atmosphere Link to comment

Kato, just star with some small patches of scenery on some stryene or cardboard, it will get you going and let you experiment some. Then you can see what you like and don't like before tackling big areas. You can always incorporate the pieces into the final scenery as well. Jeff Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
The ballast looks really nice! Can share the material involved? real dirt and greyish sand (usually used to mix cement), the mixing ratio is 70/30. make sure to dip a magnet inside first before pouring it into your diorama.. metallic sands are poisonous to trains.
