Sacto1985
A YouTube member took this interesting zenmen tenbou video of the Hiroden Miyajima Line operation from Miyajimaguchi to Hiroshima Stations, taken in 2 November 2014: There must be a fairly good number of riders on the train, as you can hear passenger chatter almost the entire trip. Note that from MIyajimaguchi to Hiroden Nishi-Hiroshima Stations, the Hiroden tram runs on its own dedicated right of way and parallels the JR West San'yō Main Line. 2 Link to comment
katoftw
Surprizing alot of people use trams to access Miyajima, even thought it take just over an hour to do the trip. Although there are quicker options. That Hiroden Nishi Hiroshima Station is a nice bit of work. Couple of terminating serivices must arrive there judging by the 2 end lines. Sacto1985
Well, it is cheaper to go from Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi Station (the closest station to the low-cost ferry to Miyajima) by Hiroden--260 yen versus 410 yen by JR West local train. The JR West option is better if you are holding the Japan Rail Pass. Link to comment
katoftw
True. If you are a visitor and your hotel is in the centre of Hiroshima. The train wouldn't be an option as the Sanyo Line skirts the outside of the city. Edited February 21, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
