wazzd
I would like to replace the front end couplers on my 117 set so I can couple another set to it, can anyone point me to the right solution, I have 2 4car sets I'd like to put together though only one set is powered. 2 cars still have rapido types on them while the rest are the smaller variety I also need to replace them. Any help would be appreciated...my Kansai collection has begun! Link to comment
katoftw
http://www.katomodels.com/product/assy/pdf/10-860_[117kei-chugoku].pdf doesn't look to have that ability. the front couplers are solid dummer couplers. on the middle rapidos couplers can be replaced. Link to comment
kvp
If you remove the dummies and the bogies behind them, you should be able to replace it with a working shibata (small) coupler equipped bogie. You could leave the rest of the couplers as they are now, since you can use different couplers on the two trains or you can switch to the shibata equipped bogies on both sets. Also only one set of dummies have to be replaced, so a total of 2 bogies are needed, since you only couple one end of each train. Link to comment
wazzd
Thank You for your replies, I thought that maybe the bogie change was the way to go....or another drive unit..that would get me two 4 car sets.......hmmmmm. Link to comment
