Does seem that they'll have spent an inordinate amount of money on tooling something for such a limited production run. Plus they seem to be quite fond of older short EMUs at the moment...

 

RTR version to come, maybe? Put a different running number on it if you're worried about offending the collectors.

That is fine since they are charging above the going rate for these.  Static model + motor unit = 7800 yen.  And since they are only in house sales, there is no discounting on the items and full profits also without the retailer's cut of the pie.
