marknewton
Over breakfast this morning we had a long discussion about holidays and travelling. The coming year is no good, too many things going on that will limit our options, so we decided on a trip to Japan for 2016. Harry will be 10, and both my wife and I will have long service leave available, so it looks like a good time to go. Now the planning starts! The one destination we all agreed on immediately is Umekoji, but everything else is negotiable. I'd like to do the Oigawa railway and the area around Kanazawa. Harry wants to ride trams, and the wife wants to to ride the Enoden. Should be interesting to creat an intinery that suits everybody. All the best, Mark. bikkuri bahn
Spring 2016 or later will be good for Umekoji, as the new adjacent JR West railway museum will be opening then. I will probably spend my spring break (last four~five days in March) in Kansai that year just to see it, if it's open then. Link to comment

Now you've taken my place as 'It's never too early to plan' ! :) Good idea, since 2016 marks the opening of JR West museum ~ HHmmm how about the Shonan Monorail combined with the Enoden? I thinkn Harry will like the Monorail ride too ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvgTr37v0EE Link to comment
