Furano-Biei Norokko ???

Whom can tell me more about this train?  Recently I saw the KiHa40-700 version restocked at a supplier.  And it being a BBQ train got me interested in finding out more.

 

Run in Hokkaido in the summer on the Furano Line.  Seems it is pulled by a DE10 these days.  I'm guessing they have a grill/bbq onboard?

 

Thats all I know.

 

Seems I may be purchasing my first Hokkaido train soon.

Slippery slope my friend... Hokaido has many beautiful trains too... My favourite being the Kiha-261 Super Hokuto and the Zoo train...

There was a thread talking about the train a while back but I can't find it at the moment.  The Japanese idea of a BBQ is a bit different to the aussie one, you probably won't find any steak or snags on the train.

 

I got one a couple of years ago from a previous run.

Ah, I rode that last year. Did you see the original red/brown version or the newly repainted green version? The current train is no longer the BBQ train per see, and the KiHa40's are no longer on there.

 

She moves around every year and isn't always out of Furano. I caught her her at Kushio. PS: If ever in Furano, I cant stress enough, checking out the Cheese Handicraft Center.
