Spaceman Spiff
Gday Gang, A fellow club member has purchased a Dr. Yellow - Kato 10-897. He is wanting decoders for it and has no paperwork. I was wondering if some one can confirm the motor takes a EM13 and the end units take FL12's? Thanks Spiff Link to comment
katoftw
10-897 is the 4 car add on set. The 10-896 is the 3 car basic. But the Kato website does say it is DCC friendly. Curious though how the pantograph inspection lights work in DCC? Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
Kato FL12 lighting decoders handle the head and tail lights, and inspection lights, too. 29-351 - EM13 X 1 (motor) 29-352 - FL12 X 2 (cabs) loco1hobby.net/ Edited December 8, 2014 by Webskipper Link to comment

So do you mean FL12 x 4? Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
I do not remember adding more than the 3 deciders. Flip it over. If there usnt a trap door on ither than the cab cars then no additional lighting decodets necessary. Probably has them installed in the inspection cars just like many Kato observation cars or lighted end cars (non-bullet). Just put them in the track and see what lights up in SC or DCC. Or use a 9v battery to juice up the cars. Link to comment
