kvp
I used cheap and small 6 pin Fleischmann decoders for my two Kato nohabs, but they have lots of space under the shell. When you install the decoder, make sure that it sits flat. If it's in an angle, then the decoder is too thick for the locomotive or the 6 pin socket has to be 'modded' (bent) to allow the decoder to be in a horizontal position. Some Hobbytrain Tauruses i've seen had no socket, so they either had to be installed with wired decoders or with home made sockets. In the newer versions, the decoder must be completly within its reserved area, so it has to be small and flat. Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
Lets see the underside of the shell. You will be shaving off a small area under the vent to make room. Link to comment
