Mudkip Orange
A smattering of pics comparing the Marunouchi line station as it is today vs how it appeared in 1967's Bond film. http://www.alifeatthemovies.com/you-only-live-twice/ 4 Link to comment

marknewton
Agreed, awesome! Now I'm going to break with the habits of a lifetime and watch a James Bond movie. :) Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
Sacto1985
By the way, that "private train" shown in You Only Live Twice is one of the old Eidan subway car trainsets on the Marounochi Line subway. Link to comment
kvp
Great find! I was looking at the comparision pictures and wondering about the clutter that got installed on the ceiling of the staircase and the platform. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
wondering about the clutter that got installed on the ceiling of the staircase and the platform. Many of these earlier stations were built in rather shallow locations, so the clearances were tight from building foundations, etc. I reckon the requirement for more electrical conduits with the development of technology, as well as airconditioning and other utilities, has forced many of these conduits to be routed through existing pedestrian corridors, as there is no room for them anywhere else. Yes, one could make a convincing replica by simply adding blinds to this model. Link to comment
