okiemax
I am trying to replace the plastic pantographs on my Tomytec EMU's with Tomix metal pantographs, but my attempts to remove the plastic pantographs have been unsuccessful. I would be grateful for advice on how to remove the pantographs without causing damage. Link to comment
JR 500系
?? Sorry not sure what you meant? You mean removing the plastic default pantagraphs that came with the plastic Tomytec models? I think you just need to pry them off. I've changed all my Tomytec trains to have metal ones just by prying off the plastic pantagraph. Depending on what model you have, it's usually 4 legs sitting on 4 holes on the plastic, so just pry them off at the legs using a small pincher and the entire assembly (with the pantagraph and base) comes off. Then attach the metal one into the 4 holes that the old plastic pantagraph base used to sit on. Hope that clarifies! Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
Newer models usually only need to pull the pantograph "legs" off.. And older models usually have 2 locks inside the body shell Link to comment
kvp
The plastic ones are fixed into two holes in the body, with thick pins in the middle. If they are stuck, it's possible to push them a little from the inside. The metal ones are either 4 thin pins at the corners or two clips. Link to comment
