Went there after my morning lessons and offered to take my student. Got there after 1pm and mostly let him do what he wanted. He rode the cherry picker (Magic Boy) but we were too late to go on the motorized cart. The first thing that he wanted to do was eat his lunch. He also wasn't interested in wearing a conductor's uniform. He was interested in the rail cutting demonstration. We had stopped earlier at Tokyo Station to take a few movies of the Shinkansens. Ran out of battery power for his camera there, so taking pictures was a bust. We did happen by chance to shoot the Resort 21. Got his picture with the train conductor.

The Nagomi was there and we ate in a 185. Saw the Zipang as we were leaving. He got a train medallion and a train sox for his sister and brother. Not much goods for sale yesterday.

He said that he enjoyed it.

Best wishes,

Grant

Lesson of the day: charge your camera battery the night before, and don't forget to put it back in the camera before leaving the front door (I did the latter and missed some shots of the Meitetsu 7000 series panorama back in 2009).

True, true, true.

Unfortunately, I didn't know about the Oku Depot Family Day until last week, so there was no warning for the student's parents. Plus he prefers videos shots to camera shots and they burn up the battery charge rather quickly.

I've also taken my camera while the battery was being charged a couple of times. Usually when I'm rushing out the door on the way to a lesson.

Hope that you are fine, Andrew.

Best wishes,

Grant
