Tenorikuma
I just thought I'd share this site I found today: http://www.kinet-tv.ne.jp/~psy_sai/ If you click his construction diary ("製作記"), there's a page of links showing the modules he's made and how he does everything from basic module construction to foliage, roads, and more. Bernard
How he transforms his traffic lights, RR crossing lights is a work of art. He is one of those modellers that it is hard to separate the actual scene from the model. Nice find. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Good stuff. Interesting to see he's using the Tomix module system. Link to comment

Tenorikuma
Good stuff. Interesting to see he's using the Tomix module system. Yeah, both Kato and Tomix make these, and they seem like a good system. I'm thinking about trying to make a small layout (large diorama?) on a 900x600 mm module base. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
He uses this product to make the lenses for his street lights, etc: http://www.cemedine.co.jp/e/product/super_x.html Is this available anywhere in the US, or anything like it? Link to comment

It says it's a silyl-based polymer. This could be the same thing: http://www.partssystems.com/smp-silyl-polymer-sealant-adhesive.html Link to comment

Tenorikuma
Excuse my lack of education but, can someone give direct me to pages showcasting these modules? From this page: http://www.kinet-tv.ne.jp/~psy_sai/make_top.html These are his in-progress building entries. The top section is his current module, the section below is the one with the nice lighting and everything. Link to comment
disturbman
Thanks, :) but I wanted to have more informations on the Tomix and Kato module system. It's the first time I read about them so I was wondring how they look like and what was their content. Link to comment

EWS60008
Cracking layouts the lot of them , to be honest most of them have given me some ideas of what to have on my layout when I get round to doing it. I will have bi-level tracks for more varierty of operations such as a Shinkansen line and a local line. Cheers Ash East Midlands United Kingdom Link to comment
serenityFan
Been digging through old posts again ... Here he shows how to put lights into a tomytec building: http://www.kinet-tv.ne.jp/~psy_sai/make_06.html He mentioned aluminium foil tape, so I thought that is a good idea, I looked it up and about the only online store I found is this: http://aeroparts.com.au/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=23&products_id=169&zenid=5617a56762cc4444f7a33750771987eb but AUD$100 for a roll of tape? Maybe in Oz it's expensive, but here in the US, it's pretty cheap, about $10/roll at most: http://www.google.com/products?q=aluminum+foil+tape Of course, I bet you could probably use regular aluminum foil and some white (PVC) glue to achieve the same effect cheaper. Bernard
It sure does look real. Did he use Unitrack/Fast track, you can hardly see the joiner. His ballasting is very neat not a speck out of place. The only thing I would like to see is touches of weathering around the layout. Link to comment
disturbman
We allready spoke about this layout, here I will merge both threads. edit: topics merged. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Looks like fine track.. What I think is a shame though, is that you can clearly see the nails he used to fasten the track, or the holes where he didn't use nails. Link to comment
disturbman
He's definately using fine tracks. And I don't car so much about the nails or the lack of them. I'm quite sure that in real life you can oversee the "problem". Link to comment
