Here's a top pro tip: many reputable manufacturers of model rail sell nifty little pieces of versatile track which can serve either as curved sections or straight sections and which come in real handy if you get short of one kind or the other. Just be sure to move the little moveable rails in the centre to point in the right direction. Always keep a fair number of these in your spare track box and you'll never be caught short.
