another new livery, service for JR East E653 Series

Another new livery for E653s. These will be transfered to the Hokuriku region for a new service, the Shirayuki, that will begin with the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen. It will connect Niigata and Joetsu-Myoko Station, a new station near Wakinoda on the Shin'etsu Main Line. These will be renumbered as 1100 subseries.

 

I thought for sure I'd seen 485 series trains in a color combination like this, but I can't find it now. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Yes, I just saw this new livery passing the revue as well. It looks awesome!

 

As for the 485 Series, you must have been thinking of the JR West Shirasagi. Also a great livery:

 

I'm a very big fan of a subtle blue and orange pattern on broken white. It's a winning combination that practically can't lose. Well, unless you're Nankai and you unbalance the whole thing.
