miyakoji
I had to read the description on YT to understand what was happening. I thought the wheelsets were slipping down between the rails, then climbing back up and rerailing. Not the case :). It's just a "bumpy spot" in the rails? Link to comment
katoftw
Yup too much speed and a dip in the tracks. Really needs a speed restriction put in place until the track is fixed. Link to comment
westfalen
By 'wet beds' I assume he is refering to the phenomena of wet clay beneath the track being drawn up through the roadbed by the pumping action of passing trains and causing dips or holes in the road. In locations where it is common they often lay a waterproof underlay beneath the ballast but there are a few spots around the Brisbane suburban network where it is chronic no matter what they do. If you want to see real rough track Noob next tme you're down this way go for a ride out to Rosewood and find something to hang onto between Thagoona and Yarrowlea. Link to comment
JR 500系
Pretty fast the train was moving... And kinda scary the wheels were bouncing around like that... Really scary and would have resulted in a serious derailment incident... Link to comment
westfalen
I've seen worse, when I first looked at the video I was expecting to see something exciting. Link to comment
