linkey
Hi guys,The members of the Australian Japanese Model Railway Group (AJMRG) recently had their display at Sunshine Model Train Exhibition on August 2nd-3rd. We had issues of the hall being cold (it was colder in the hall than being outside) and we in the latter part of Winter over here.A few photos of the T-TRAK layout is on our facebook page and I would like to thank the admins of JNS Forums for sharing the photos.Overall the members of the AJMRG were not happy with the event at Sunshine and are considering of rejecting their invite next year due to other issues that the club members have raised not just the lack of heating, but for the overall experience was a downer as the last time we were there was 6 years ago and it feels like the organisers didn't really do much to change things to make it inviting to come back next year. But not wanting to end on a negative note, the members of AJMRG have been invited to other Model Train Shows around the state of Victoria, in which a few we are considering as they are offering us a fair bit of $$$ to attend to show our T-TRAK and J-Module displays.Overall we are starting to become welcomed to the Train Modelling Community as being a standout Japanese Layout, but still behind Doug Coster's Enoshima (and many other layouts that Doug has done) but that is the beauty of our modelling, everything is different and exciting for the attendees. Martijn Meerts
From the looks of the pictures, I feel your layout has a bit more of a general Japanese feel to it, compared to Doug's layouts which are often very specific. For shows, and for getting people interested in Japanese trains, I think the more general feel does a better job. Of course, the Enoden layouts all have a certain charm of their own, and they usually attract a lot of people as well :) Great that you're getting invited to more shows though, and that they're actually paying you to attend! linkey
We got very little from the Sunshine event which we are pretty unhappy with, but with the other events we shall rise and keep enjoying our hobby and promote Japanese Model trains. Link to comment
