disturbman
As talked about during the previous weeks, Autumn has come early to the forum: leaves and dead branches were removed, trunks fortified.Enjoy the new JNS! 3 Link to comment
E6系
Hello disturbman, Good job. Suggest fixing Worldide Models ... should read Worldwide Models. Also, the forum background goes white when mouse over. Highlight colour? It is the same colour used when there are new posts in the forum. Suggest making these different. Otherwise excellent work .... 9/10 .... ;) Link to comment
disturbman
Hi E6,Thanks for the sharpness of your eyes. I had not seen that typo.We will look into that highlight color issue. 1 Link to comment
Densha
Gotta say, it looks much better now! I wonder though...the "Trams & Trolleys & Buses" forum, is that only meant for Japanese trams? Because models from elsewhere go into the "Worldwide Models" forum so I assume it's only for Japanese. If so, maybe put "Japanese:" in front of it just like you did with N gauge and other scales? It's great that we now have a joyful train sticky, and I think we shouldn't add hundreds of stickies, but while this makes that joyful trains will be less scattered over the forum many other things aren't yet. Maybe it's just my personal annoyance, it could be. Anyways, maybe we'll should just see how it works out. Link to comment
disturbman
I do not read very often that section but I thought it was already mixed Japan/world. Link to comment
Densha
It's just one of those things I never understood, why are there so many posts about prototype and models from other countries in there while it was/is put under Japanese modelling? :x Link to comment

Ochanomizu
Hi E6, Thanks for the sharpness of your eyes. I had not seen that typo. We will look into that highlight color issue. Hello Mr disturbman, So sorry, but the same problem exists with unread topics within each forum. Both the highlight colour and background colour are set white. Look for .unread { background-color: in ipb_styles.css to change this. 2 Link to comment

Your are right, it is the same situation in the forums themselves. The administrators will make the necessary change once their work commitments give them enough time to delve into the CSS code of the forum. 1 Link to comment

Martijn Meerts
"moderator" is a big word, they're really just living spam filters to combat the living spam bots *cough cough* =) 1 Link to comment

cteno4
jr thats spam, baned! ;-p I guess Densha and I have the distinction of reporting spam the soonest so this is our reward! do some work if you report! Just some more time zones to catch spam posts and zap em and their posters. Not much of a problem here volume wise, but the more eyes the better, especially in different timezones with a world wide list! cheers jeff Link to comment
Densha
Yeah we're just doing the spam stuff. The more people looking for spam the better. Link to comment
Densha
Hi! The Japanese N gauge forum has always been the most used part of JNS Forum. No surprise there considering that it is the main interest of this forum. ;) It has however become a bit of a mess over the years because of the many topics about many different subjects being posted in there. After some deliberation the moderator team decided to split up the Japanese N gauge forum into a few subforums... - General - Rolling stock - Track, Points and Underlay - Scenery and Structures All old topics from the Japanese N gauge forum have been moved to the “Archive” subforum. You can still read and reply to topics there, but cannot create new topics. This archive was decided upon because that way the N gauge section can have a new fresh start. Old topics can of course easily be found using the search function as well. We will move some important and recent topics from the archive to their new subforum asap. If you however spot an interesting topic in the archive that you think is worth placing in one of the new subforums, just drop the link in the following topic and we’ll take a look at it eventually: http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/9869-link-drop-topic-n-gauge-archive-to-new-n-gauge-subforums/ We hope you will all enjoy the new N gauge section! :D Link to comment

NJHA
While i understand the reason for the change i am still debating on whether i like it or not, because even being a mess it was still very easy to find the topics i was interested on. The future will tell if i like it or not. Link to comment
kvp
Considering many of us read the forum as a news stream (with the view new content button) the arrangement of subforums isn't really visible. It's only important when someone is trying to find an old topic or create a new one and checks for existing topics or trying to find a place for the new one. So for this reason, more subcategories are good. I think the old topics that get posts regulalry should be moved to the active subtopics to be easily findable. 1 Link to comment
katoftw
This has made a mess of the mobile site side of things. Cannot access new posts. You go to a thread that has a new post, but you are taken to page 1. No good if the thread has 33 pages. Link to comment
cteno4
Kato are you clicking on the thread title or on the Date for the last post? Title will always take you to page 1 Can you please provide a sequence of what on each screen you tap. Jeff Link to comment
