Nick_Burman
http://nankaru.info/rollingstock/ph201402-2.html At last! At last! A picture of Kosaka Copper's 762mm gauge electrics!!! With some nice cute tankers to go with it! Cheers NB Link to comment

kvp
I think a Bandai B-train Joshin deki1 steeplecab (i call it B-train normy as it has a prototypical length) could be used with shorty tank cars to recreate the train in N scale. Link to comment
cteno4
The little n scale steeple cab is darn close to the little kato pocket train. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10144819 You would need to swap in the 4 axle mech, but looking at mine and a 4 axle kato pocket mech I think it should work with very little fiddling. Might need a small strip of skirting and a tad of carving on the ends of the 4 axle mec, but easy, Tankers look close to some of the beer can shorties out there with some mods maybe. There are the btrain shorty tankers but those are all fish bellies I think. Jeff Link to comment

Nick_Burman
That little railway practically screams Kawaii!! Are there models available? The correct scale/gauge relation to model the Kosaka Railway before regauging would be HOn30, in this relation so far nothing has been made. Cheers NB Link to comment
stevenh
Isn't that marknewton's steeplecab? http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/8968-toshiba-40-ton-steeplecab/ Edited August 4, 2014 by stevenh Link to comment

kvp
Then getting the bandai b-train loco in N scale and using a Z scale mech, you will get a good model. Also, getting N scale 2 axle tank cars and adding Z scale bogies will work too. Of course it's Nn3 instead of H0n30, but at least it's doable with relatively cheap off the shelf parts. For Nn30 (=Nn2.5), you would need 5 mm wide rails. Imho using 6.5 instead is a good compromise. If you really want H0n30, then getting a H0 shell and using N scale tracks would also work. With N scale track, you will get a scale of about 1:84.6, which is good for both european (1:87) and japanese (1:80) equipment. ps: 760 mm is very close the 762 mm Bosnian gauge that was used in the Austro-Hungarian empire... (and still in use by the few remaining narrow gauge lines) Link to comment
