Shikoku Railway Culture Museum

Recommended Posts

I found this news message that a railway museum has opened near Iyo-Saijo station in Shikoku on 20 July.

It appears some trains are on display there but I don't know about any other things that can be seen.

I don't know what the previous Gauge Changing Train is doing there though. Probably also one car preserved.

It's the new south wing of the museum, which opened in 2007.  Apparently the kiha 65, which is one of the new additions, is a particularly valuable piece.

Maybe I should stop being lazy and just read the Japanese instead of using google translate. When I read the Japanese it actually mentions that indeed one of the four GCT cars are preserved. But if I read the KiHa 65 part I would think that they say that it's the only one remaining, which is nonsense because they are still running on Kyushu (or am I wrong?).
