marknewton
Tramway are making more steam locos: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10285160 Lovely little engines that they are, I'll need at least two of them for my steam roster. http://homepage3.nifty.com/EF57/engines/86.htm All the best, 2 Link to comment

Let us first see what their C11 will look like...I have one reserved... Cheers NB Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Kudos to Tramway, looks like they have found a very nice niche, catering to JNR era modelers. Now if they would also try a C50, or even better, a D51 or D50, since Kato seems dead-set on not re-issuing their HO D51, though they churn out dmus, passenger and freight cars from decades-old molds consistently. 1 Link to comment
marknewton
bb, it'll be interesting to see what they do next. Any of the locos you mention would be good choices and I'd buy any and all of them, but of the three I'd most like to see them do a D50. That's a class of engine with heaps of potential for different versions to be modelled. Like you , I wonder why Kato hasn't re-issued their D51 - maybe the molds/tooling are damaged? Cheers, Mark. westfalen
I may have to get one to go with my C12. Now to decide which version to get. 1 Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Kato released an HO DD51 "starter" train set with only one container flat, not exactly the most inspiring combination. Much better would have been a D51 with three or four two axle freight cars and a cabin car- much more operating interest (or play value) and value for money (I'm sure some veteran modelers would buy such a set from one of the big box retailers at discount just for the locomotive and rolling stock). Come to think of it, we may have had this conversation before... Edited July 21, 2014 by bikkuri bahn 1 Link to comment

marknewton
Good on yer, Westfalen - if their 8620s are of similar quality to their previous models of the C12s, you won't be dissappointed. The two I have look great, run beautifully, and were very simple to convert to DCC. Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
westfalen
Yes, I have a C12, it is a very nice loco. I'm looking forward to getting the N scale C11s as well. Link to comment
