JR 500系
Here's some interesting news from Sanriku Railway: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2067zw_japan-rail-service-accepting-kit-kat-bars-as-tickets_travel?utm_content=bufferc6fc8&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer Start collecting your Kit Kat wrappers! Didn't know Kit Kat meant so much more than just chocolates to the Japanese... Link to comment
Densha
That guy can't even pronounce Japanese, he said "kiru katsu" instead of "kitto katsu". Link to comment
Keikyu
I like any excuse to buy kit kats. Trains just sweeten the deal. Link to comment
kvp
This is similar to how Christmas means KFC to many people in Japan. Except Nestle is actually actively promoting it, both with the Skytree and now with this. As long as it's for a good cause, i like it. Link to comment
westfalen
That guy can't even pronounce Japanese, he said "kiru katsu" instead of "kitto katsu". I think he said the name of the chocolate bar is similar to the phrase 'kiru katsu'. He did say 'nucular plant' though. I liked the orange flavoured Kit Kats I found in the convenience store at Uwjima station, I was going to get some to bring home but I didn't see them anywhere else later in the trip. Link to comment
JR 500系
I wonder if all Kit Kat wrappers are accepted, or only some types. I do know there is a vast difference in prices between normal Kit Kat (chocolate favour, original red wrappers) and premium ones like Green Tea flavour, strawberry flavour etc... Link to comment
katoftw
I plan on trying all the flavours while over there. We used to have mint and orange in Australia as special releases. But have not seen them for many years. Not sure how I will take Green Tea flavour. The Lawsons down stairs from my hotel in Shinjuku is gonna get a good workout while there. hehe Link to comment

That's still nonsense, because 'kitto katsu' means something like 'You will surely win'. 'Kiru katsu' is just meaningless blabbering. The English translation of that phrase was okay though. Kitayama
I wonder if all Kit Kat wrappers are accepted, or only some types. I do know there is a vast difference in prices between normal Kit Kat (chocolate favour, original red wrappers) and premium ones like Green Tea flavour, strawberry flavour etc... I think it is only special Kit Kats. Each wrapper is worth 190 yen so if the ticket is 280 yen, you have to pay the 90 yen diifference.
