miyakoji
YT brought this up as a suggested video after the video Bikkuri posted in http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/8870-freight-train-derailed-in-hokkaido-again-22-jun-14/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi7970zzgLs Looks like the mound of dirt/mud that slid onto the tracks was substantial, but the train didn't flip over. They'll get it fixed. Link to comment
Sacto1985
Fortunately, that part of the JR Kyushu system does not have that much traffic, so getting it fixed will have little effect on JR Kyushu operations. I'd be WAY more concerned if something happened on the Nippo Main LIne between Kokura and Kagoshima, since that line has a lot of passenger traffic. Link to comment
Guest ___
Not a good week for any of the JR Groups. Link to comment

Actually I get very concerned if any line like this has a serious washout or flood damage because it could be used as a reason to close the line permanantly as happened to the nearby Takachiho Railway after it sustained typhoon damage in 2005. Fortunately though it doesn't look too serious as such things go and is right beside a main road so access for repairs shouldn't be a problem. Link to comment
