Hello all,

I'm back from Japan, arrived day before yesterday. When I've finished getting my life in order I'll resume my reports - with pictures. In the meantime I'm digesting the stuff I bought in Japan, amongst which is a Kato C56 steamer. I replaced the couplers - back one standard Kato issue knuckles, front one the top half of an Micro-Trains 1015 coupler, a much better solution that the coupler furnished. Next step is fitting number plates...for which I would like to know if there is any web resources where I can find to what depots were locos allocated to? The Kato loco comes with plates numbered 144, 149, 150 and 159. Locos 144 and 150 were allocated to the Koumi line, what about the others? Is there any resource showing the complete comings and goings of the class?

Cheers NB

C56 159 - built by Kawasaki, first assignment Odate, Akita, starting April 21, 1939.  Then to Nakagomi, lastly Nanao on January 25th, 1970.  Farewell run September 30, 1973 on Oku-Noto service (I bet this was a great ride).  Retired at Nanao, June 12, 1974.  Had been on display in a playground in town of Shio, Hakui-gun, Ishikawa prefecture.  Scrapped in July 1995.
