Spaceman Spiff
G'day gang, I realize it may not be prototypical but I would to join a Kato 113-1500 set (8 car) and a 113-2000 (4 car set plus 2 addon) to make a 14 car train. Is their a coupler that can be installed on the end unit that will allow the end units to couple up? Any try this before? Thanks Spiff Link to comment
Kamome
Hi Spiff If its the same as the Kato 115 series, you first have to install a replacement bogie for the driving cars which has a rapido coupler as standard. For mine I needed to buy 2 sets of bogies making one in each set a little redundant. The plough section detaches from the body and clips on to the bogie (minus the dummy coupler) I used part 11-031 on the KUMOHA end and 11-030 on the KUHA end. This then meant I could use the 11-703 couplers. They look ok if not a little long. I can now couple a 6 car 115 series to a KUMONI 143. I trimmed the hoses off as it looks odd when uncoupled.
