Testing begins in September and it will enter service from November 1. A second vehicle will be completed in August and the two will run as a married pair. Link to comment

You just need good motor brakes and good wheel brakes. Also, the classic wheel brakes have a nice side effect to clean the wheels from fallen leaves and other slippery stuff, so together with a good amount of sand they provide better braking power than any disc brake system. The only negative side effects are increased wheel surface abrasion and lots of rust powder around the tracks. Link to comment
