Nick_Burman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HPv1UeXerI A film done by a girl railfan about a new museum located in the 1st floor of an suburban Osaka mall. The theme is Keihan, complete with a 3000-series coach inside - I wouldn't be surprised if the mall is owned by Keihan or a subsidiary. The girl's channel - https://www.youtube.com/user/suzukawaayako/videos - watch on you own peril, lots of kawaiiiiii and suuugooooooiiii... :grin Cheers NB 1 Link to comment
westfalen
Why doesn't it surprise me that in Japan a shopping mall could have a better railway museum than our actual railway museums. 2 Link to comment
kvp
I didn't know they already retired all the 3000 series trains. Apparently this driving trailer was on the front of the last train and yes, the mall is owned by the railway. It's a bit sad, that they didn't keep a whole set in running condition, at least the minimal 3 car configuration. Link to comment
JR 500系
Ahah! Suzukawa Akayo san! And here's a thread dedicated to her: http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/8404-cute-girl-reviewing-plarail-b-shorty-on-youtube/?hl=%2Bcute+%2Bgirl She's really cute, especially her voice. There's a video in her channel where she did the Koi no Fortune Cookie dance at all stations around a train line... Very cute, but the wife hates her. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
*some nostalgia* Video from 1986 of the section of the Keihan between Tofukuji and Sanjo, when the mainline was still at grade. Old style grade crossings and the compact Sanjo Station wedged into the riverside, complete with in-station pedestrian crossing. 3000 series at 5:23 (Shijo Station). 4 Link to comment

The only 3000 series trains running today are Toyama Chiho's. Cheers NB Link to comment

westfalen
I might try and visit this place while I'm in the Osaka/Kyoto area in a months time. Might be a good stop for dinner on the way back from Osaka to the hotel in Kyoto one evening, the mall's food court looks good. http://kuzuha-mall.com/gourmet/ Link to comment
Kitayama
I might try and visit this place while I'm in the Osaka/Kyoto area in a months time. Might be a good stop for dinner on the way back from Osaka to the hotel in Kyoto one evening, the mall's food court looks good. http://kuzuha-mall.com/gourmet/ The food court in Kuzuha is quite good. I like the tonkatsu place. The German-style bakery is not so bad either. My parents-in-law used to live in Kuzuha so that shopping mall is probably the place in Japan I have visited most of all. Keihan is renewing the mall area so a lot has changed since my last visit. In May I will be in Hirakata for two weeks so I will visit the new museum. Maybe my wife has got some discount coupons as she is a Keihan shareholder. We get a number of free train tickets every year as a shareholder benefit! 1 Link to comment
