Nick_Burman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOEZbmpRdYg Clip showing the route of the Nagoya area limestone trains. These start their trips on the Seino Railway, are interchanged to JRF at Mino-Akasaka, then taken on for an interchange with the Meirin (Nagoya Coastal Railway). Meirin then forwards them to the Nippon Steel Sumitomo Metals steel mill south of Nagoya. Barring the exhaustion of the limestone reserves or the closure of the mill, this is a flow which JRF will retain for the time being, especially considering that the mining company is getting new cars for the run... Of all the rinkai tetsudo, Meirin seems to be the most interesting - long mainline, nice locomotives, flat crossing with the Meitetsu, varied mix of traffic: ordinary containers, coil and sheet carrier containers, Toyota Longpass Express, tankers. Most modelable... Cheers NB 3 Link to comment
miyakoji
Excellent find, Nick. This uploader has one more of the Meirin, and other rail videos including a few front-views. Link to comment
