Nick_Burman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55KepEVHZb8#aid=P-0b-7fOOEU New rolling stock on small private railways is usually very hard to come by, but Joshin Dentetsu has bucked the trend by prurchasing a brand new 7000 series train. Money was raised by national local and prefectural governments in conjunction with a project to designate the Tomioka Silk Mill* as an UNESCO World Heritage Site this summer. The train has a strong resemblance to the Seibu equipment used on the line but inside everything is top modern, LCD screens and all. The train was delivered in factory white (looks good like that, reminds me of Tobu's diesel cars...) but will soon receive the attention of local schoolkids. * = http://www.tomioka-silk.jp/hp/index.html - absolutely beautiful Meiji-era silk mill complex built with French assistance. If anyone is in the general area it seems VERY much worth the detour to see it. Cheers NB Edited March 28, 2014 by Nick_Burman 2 Link to comment
