Ermahgerd! Freight exchange between two private companies in a station that is perfect for a layout? This is an instant favourite!

Nice station and a good shunting job. It's easy to modell too. I've checked the site on google and the stub track was removed, the 1st track became a stub, accessible only from the south, the station platform was enlarged (and there is a new building) and the freight line is removed, but the place of the curve after the station can still be seen.

I was looking at that site last night and thinking the interchange station would make an interesting model.

That last picture at Yatomi* is also a gem.  The area of those freight sidings is now a Meitetsu owned parking lot.  I recommend the Bisai Line for a ride, it's quintessentially Meitetsu in atmosphere, i.e. still retaining the pre-Showa 40's meandering interurban feel rather than just mainline 8 or 10 car operations, as well as far-flung multiple end-point destinations.

*Yatomi Station is on record as the lowest above ground rail station in Japan- being .93m below sea level.

I rode the line from Tsushima to Yatomi in 2011 while I was racking up some Mietetsu route miles in my railway atlas.  Even though it was after dark by the time I got down there, spent too much time watching them unloading newspapers at Futatsu-Iri, I still got the impression I was on a bit of a backwater of the system.
