loulasalle
I have my train room decorated with some porcelain, and stamped metal, North American Railroad logos. They add color to the room. I would like to add similar items from Japan, and Europe as well, but haven't had much success in finding them. Can anyone help. bikkuri bahn
If you're looking for railwayana, typically in Japan the genuine items are quite expensive. Replicas are cheaper, they tend to be train nameplates and destination boards done on acrylic rather than enamel (to keep costs down). However, being that 99.9% of buyers of these items are Japanese, I don't think retailers ship outside of Japan, or even have English language websites. Perhaps forum members living outside Japan have experience getting these items. Link to comment
cteno4
Lou, check with modeltrainplus.net. they will do personal shopping for a small fee for you and might have some leads on this type stuff. Nariichi already has a few small japanese train souvenir items on the site. dave at loco1hobby.net might also have some ideas as well. jeff Link to comment

Regards, Lou La Salle Bedminster, PA loulasalle@ hotmail.com These are available on yahoo auctions japan and you can buy them using a yahoo japan auctions setvice such as buyee. However, as stated, they will be expensive. Some locomotive numberplates can go for upwards of $10,000 amd even much more. However, there are also things that can be gotten that are nice for only a few hundred dollars that are "solid" enough to be worthwhile, including secondary station signs and railway logos of various forms. if you know what you are looking for and can search the japanese site, there are things to be had. If youre looking to spend less than $100, dont even bother though as just the postage, payment, and auction fees will take up a big chunk of this.
