New E233-6000 on the Yokohama line

Yesterday turned out to be more interesting than I expected. Having a few colleagues of my wife visiting, it looked to be just another weekend with friends coming over for lunch, but then, suddenly I got a message of a Japanese friend.

 

He said he was in the neighbourhood in Hashimoto, snapping pictures of the brand new E233-6000 and 205 series, and he saw a blonde foreigner doing the same thing. Knowing that a German friend of mine is also a 205 series fan, he curiously asked me if it was him he spotted (they didn't know each other). I asked my other friend friend is he was perhaps in Hashimoto and he was! To cut a long story short, in the end, two of my unconnected friends, both sharing the same interest in trains, met!

 

Since our visitors were about to leave, my wife and me decided to bring our little boy and guide our visitors to the station in Machida together. We arranged to meet my two railway friends there and got a platform ticket for my wife and me.

 

Anyway, all in all, the day of the debut of the new train series on the Yokohama line turned out to be quite historical! It brought two people together, sharing the same interests, my son experienced his first time at a station (he enjoyed the engine sounds of the 205s a lot), and I got to see the new E233-6000 in action with special head marks.

 

I think this is going to be a very interesting time we're heading to altogether. We're having a toast very soon on our meeting and talk trains. It will be rad.
