macdon
I kinda took a top view shot of where almost everything intersects. All those twist and bends reminds me of the twisted mind who took on this project! Lol! :D Same intersection in different angles........... An extension of structures, so added a bridge......... Time to work on the ground floor level with custom platforms built from sintra. The inner platform is shorter for 2-car trains. Sintra made platforms on higher levels..... Mardon 1 Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Looks good, but have you tested the trains on the platforms in the curves? I don't think they will let the train pass very well, if at all... I've had some bad experiences with platforms in curves. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Looks like a fun layout with lots of surprises for first time viewers of where trains are going :) Link to comment

Mudkip Orange
I'm loving this progress. How did you cut the foam mountains? Hot wire tool? Link to comment
macdon
I'm loving this progress. How did you cut the foam mountains? Hot wire tool? Just an ordinary steel saw (small teeth). Then sandpaper to smoothen them out. Mardon Link to comment
macdon
Off topic question....... This question might be properly addressed in the prototype section, but thought I'd ask here instead - my apologies. Which Shinkansen line passes through the most mountainous terrain? What is the highest elevation of any shinkansen line ever? Just trying to research a bit.... Mardon Link to comment
Mudkip Orange
The Nagano Shinkansen gets up to 840-850m elevation under Usui Pass... that's gotta be the tallest. Link to comment
Mr Frosty
Looking good and seriously impressive progress. :) Link to comment

macdon
A bit slow on this project actually. Working on the shinkansen layout - major revamp. Mardon Link to comment
macdon
Just thought I'd update this project ........... Still WIP with many more things to do/add, but here's some pics and a video. Both mountain tops could easily be detached by lifting it up for maintenance, derailments, cleaning, etc. Mardon http://youtu.be/wpkBAoXI-CM 6 Link to comment
cteno4
Mardon, Stunning little layout! really nice mountain scenery! You have to get this one out to some sort of public event, they will eat it up! you still going to do the bus line on this? Kudo dude! jeff Link to comment
macdon
Thanks Jeff! No moving bus system here. Maybe in another layout. Mardon Link to comment
Bernard
Mardon - Great layout....I really like the fact that the trains moves in and out of view (hidden in tunnels) Link to comment
