Sinus
Hi, I don't make layouts although enjoy watching them. Instead, from time to time I arrange some floor setups. That makes possible to enjoy designing different track plans each time. Here are a few photos from latest setup: The whole album can be found in: https://picasaweb.google.com/114460881679606172236/JapaneseModelTrainsV2014 and is likely to be updated over time as at the moment I am not satisfied with sharpness of some of the photos. E6系
Hello Mr Sinus, With so much track I could not control myself. You are so lucky. But the only things missing from your layout are shinkansen 0系 and 200系. I hope you have the opportunity to purchase them soon. :) Link to comment
Sinus
200 series is in my plans - not sure about 0 series. E7 from the other hand is not, at least at the moment. Don't like it too much, but that may change over time similarly to new models of cars. At some point I would also like to get E4Max. Controlling is pretty easy after 5 minutes of training. There are 3 loops, each has separate power unit and set of point controls. The inner loop is trivial with controller of double crossover. The tricky part, however, and that was on purpose, is that the most inner loop crosses with the inner loop twice in the station area. Link to comment
cteno4
ahhh you gotta have the classic 0 series! jeff Link to comment

I have these and love them all. old school 0-2000 16 car set 10-453-454 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10044246 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10026072 nice and old school. has movable pantographs, runs well with a single motor car for 16 cars. 0-7000 Sanyo fresh green tomix 92752 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10028707 nice charteuse color 6 car train then the 30th anniversary series 0 tomix 92939 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10043403 nice straight forward 6 car train then you could do a double duty with a 922 series 0 dr yellow micro ace A0490, A0491, A0492, and A0250 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10025238 very nice detailing and stunning 7 car trains, but very hard to get ahold of. cheers jeff 1 Link to comment
JR 500系
Very nice Sinus! Thanks for sharing! It's nice to see many shinkansen together for a group shot! Hhhmm i saw a rare 3-car Tomix Hikari Railstar set! Can i guess if the 500 is from Tomix? I recall you've mentioned about the pick-up on another thread, but i saw a 7-car consists and i thought it was Kato, since Kato had a 7-car basic set, but then i saw the missing black stripe on the top so i guess it has to be Tomix. I would guess it's a basic 3 car + 4 car Add-on set? Your post inspired me to do another photo shoot too! Link to comment
Sinus
Hikari Rail Star is my son's old set Tomix 92276. You guessed right about JR500 - it's Tomix 92082+92084. For both I plan some renovations plus powered couplers. With regards to 0 series I think I will wait till re-relase with all-wheel pickup. But MicroAce dr Yellow looks really nice although possibly not feasible to get. Link to comment
Sinus
Some better quality photos - finally switched off image stabilizer. I also updated pictures under link: https://picasaweb.google.com/114460881679606172236/JapaneseModelTrainsV2014 Also managed to tape some videos: Cheers, Sinus 2 Link to comment
JR 500系
Very nice Sinus! Thanks for sharing! I love the Cassiopeia shot with humans inside ~ Very realistic! I have the Tomix Cassiopeia too, so maybe i'll also do just that! Sweet layout and fun running them! Link to comment
Sinus
Mine Cassiopeia is Kato one. Although, I would prefer Tomix as it has both head and tail lights unlike Kato which has only tail lights. When buying I was not aware of that difference. As I wrote in the other thread also my Kato EF210 Cassiopeia painting loco is quite disappointing as it has difficulties in approaching bridge when pulling 6 car Cassiopeia train. Now, I started wondering why and I guess I will try to add some weight to the loco or change rubbers on power wheels. Link to comment
