Zeppelin driver
Hello, Has anyone seen a video or a description in a Forum on how to install these in Kato HO superliners or bi-level cars? I'm stumped. I google'ed, I bing'ed , I give up. Nothing on taking the cars apart, then it gets worse.. There's nothing to attach the lens to the roof like the instructions say. Nothing on aligning the lens to the PCB light board. The sub assemblies fall apart when I try to attach them together or to car body.. there is 11 pieces to the kit !!!! Nothing aligns when I try to assembly the car back together. I thought these would be like the N-scale lit kits,, they ain't !!! Howard Link to comment
kvp
This might be some help, at least it shows the assembled version: http://www.hs-tamtam.co.jp/item-30430.html Afaik the metal plates have to be clamped to the pcb and the lens should be clipped into the control circuit then the whole assembly fixed to the ceiling with the tape. So you have to put the main circuit board into the grey frame (along with the small spacer frame), clamp on the 4 brass plates, push in the prism board from the side, which in turn locks the whole circuit together. (if the brass plates keep falling off, then you might try to solder them to the board) Link to comment
Zeppelin driver
Thanks for response.I'll just say this light kit is ridiculous for non modelers. Took me three hours average to finish each of six cars, I'm exhausted. (and still, taking a car off the track and re-railing will still cause contacts to fail ) :icon_scratch: ( but I will say to the positive, when they have current the lights don't flicker, good brightness,,, strong-like bull !) :) For modelers that like to spend hours making things work , well, this is a Kit,,, in the truest sense.Beware !!!
