katoftw
Are the Kato throttle the same ie English vs Japanese text ones? I know its a stupid question, but I read that some will only work in certain regions? Or is the only difference the text on the silver plate? I'm pretty sure they are all okay to use wherever as long as you use a power source from you own region. I just cannot find 100% straight answer online. ie I have America throttles with Aussie power sources. Thanks. Link to comment
keitaro
i think they are different transformer voltages. Link to comment
westfalen
I have one of each, one from Hobby Search with the tram set and one bought at my local hobby shop in Ipswich. The only difference is the text and the plug pack transformer supplied with it, the Japanese one came with a 100V AC version. I bought a new one for the Japanese throttle from Jaycar. Link to comment
katoftw
Yeah both of my transformers came from jaycar also. Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of buying the ef210 + 3x koki 106 M1 starter set. Probably just end up selling the throttle since I already have two. But I'm sure most modellers that deal with KAto have many already hidden away unused in cupboards already. I know I've got a USA 100V transformer floating around the cupboards already. westfalen
It is always handy to have an extra throttle stashed away. Link to comment
katoftw
Thanks again. Talking with someone with a little more brains and experience than me helps me feel I'm making the right choices. Link to comment
Matteo_IT
In Europe we have 220 V ac with different plugs between the States. I purchased a MRC Tech controller with momentum in USA... 110 V ac transformer... No problem: I use an adaptor purchased in Italy, from 110 V ac to 220 V ac. As is heavy, I suppose it consists in a simple transformer 1:2 (110 to 220). Link to comment
