bnicolas1987
Hi, Finaly I have ran my Hokutosei, here are the first video: I also have done some pictures: Both locomotives, first and last cars are DCC fitted, it was easy fot the engines as thex have a DCC socket, but quite harder for the cars espescially the first one as there is very small free space. See you! Nicolas Edited November 26, 2013 by bnicolas1987 2 Link to comment
Mr_Alex
From watching that video,I like to know are they Marklin K-Track? Link to comment
bnicolas1987
Hi, In fact, it is a club modular layout, with both systems, the inside track is Märklin, the outside track is every else... I wouldn't pass to m!arklin system, it is not possible with si detailed and varied rolling stock... See you. Nicolas Link to comment
bnicolas1987
Hi, I's been a long time sice I hadn't do anything on my models. I've started to light the Hokutosei and began with the restaurant car and the is it. (Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures as my phone don't do better...) First, the restaurant car had already the lights on the table So with the new light, it is better And at last, two picture to explain how it pick the current As I run my trains on DCC, I took a 20 VDC led strip, but it was making too much light, so I put a 3kohm resistor in serie after the redresser. Shall I continue with other cars? See you. Nicolas 1 Link to comment
Melandir
Hi Nicolas, an advice if you want to have a better light diffusion don't use that kind of led strip, but switch to external one, the one rated as IP65 that have a gel coating on the leds, that cover type help in better diffusing the light inside the car Link to comment
bnicolas1987
In fact, I have a lot of normal strip, I had try the silicone one, but that doesen't change so much the light and give me much more job to cut off the silicone where I put the wires... Thank you for this advice. Link to comment
bnicolas1987
Hi, Those days I spent a lot of time in lighting the full Hokutosei train. And I'm very happy of how it is now. I still have to fit all the interiors details (I still don't know when I'll do this) and the car number (1 to 11) that will be done until tomorrow. I hope I can run this train at march for the last run memorial ;-) 3 Link to comment

cteno4
Excellent Nicholas! I'm so jealous of the detail you can do in HO and the fact you can actually see the details w.o being 2" away. Cheers, Jeff Link to comment
keitaro
Yes Excellent. That car itself could be used just on a bit of rail in a plastic case and be a lit display! good job Link to comment
