Really nice. ~ Now i just need to get out there to get my hands on a 400series? Too bad Kato doesn't make 400 series... My E4 happens to be a Kato and now i can't couple the 400series together.... Sacto1985 Posted November 11, 2013 Share Posted November 11, 2013 I believe the 400's were retired because they were only limited to a top speed of 240 km/h running on the main Shinkansen tracks. The E3's were built because they had a top speed of 275 km/h, matching the top speed of the E2 trainsets (E3's are usually coupled to E2 trainsets). Link to comment
