John k
There are three KATO KiHa trains i was looking at....i might be able to swing only one of them for my fleet... KiHa 81 Express Kuroshio KiHa 151 Kodama/Tsubame KiHa 181-100 Toki/Azusa All three have that unique cab/carbody styling that evokes the late 1950s-early 60s flair....so i guess i am asking, knowing that it is mostly a personal taste matter, if i had to run one of the three at a N-Trak show to grab the kids, plug model railroading plus show that the Japanese had cool high-speed trains that are not necessarily Shinkansens, which would be the best one to get? Thanks for your opinions.... Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Depends on the specific era you're modeling(1958~1965, 1965~1982 or so). If you want to have the most contemporary effect go with the Kuha 181. The Kuha 151 is essentially an earlier mark of the 181 series. Be careful with designations- "ki" (for kidosha) is only used with dmu's. Edited October 11, 2013 by bikkuri bahn Link to comment
