Matteo_IT
Hello guys, I have a question about the transport of nuclear fuel in Japan. In Europe I know there are at least 3 types of wagons: two english types, one long and one short (this one produced both in OO and N by Bachmann and Graham Farish) and one french type, 2+2 bogies, 8 axles. These wagons are used to take the nuclear fuel from nuclear power plants to nuclear depots. So, as in Japan there are a lot of nuclear power plants, how these nuclear parts are moved? There are some links with videos or pics? Do exist some models (Ho or N)? Many thanks everybody. Link to comment
Nick_Burman
Matteo, Given the coastal location of most power plants I think the spent fuel rods and waste travel by ship. Sending the stuff by rail would be very disruptive. Cheers NB Link to comment
Ochanomizu
Hello Mr Matteo_IT Yes, Mr Nick_Burman is correct. Most of the transportation is done by ship. You can learn more about that here: http://www.nft.co.jp/english/business/vessels.html Link to comment
