Con Ed shuts down the New Haven

The disadvantage of relying on commercial power. Sometimes it forces you to shut down the entire railroad:

This morning's commute West of Stamford was a disaster. I took my dad up to Groton this morning and I95 traffic was backed up all the way to New Haven. Metro North and the New Haven Line are not having a good year

Reminds me of the old saying when I was a kid and a famous quote in the NYC area; Con Ed- "Dig we must"... In the New Haven's day I believe they generated their own power too.
