No, it appears they are representations of schemes used on different types of rolling stock, some that ran concurrently.  The whole exercise is a tie-in promotion for an upcoming NHK serial period drama as well as celebrating 110 years of municipal transport.

i actually kind of like this.  Looks pretty cool.  And that says a lot given that it's from chronically aesthetically challenged Osaka city transport system.
