Sacto1985
Here's an interesting old video--filmed for high-speed playback--of the Tokaidō Shinkansen run from Tokyo Station to Shin-Osaka Station: Part One: Part Two: Part Three: Part Four: This video was probably filmed in the middle 1980's, since there is no Shinagawa Station, the imposing structure of the current Kyoto Station is not there, and all the trains on the tracks are 0 Series trainsets. If they were to do this video in 2013 (and they filmed on board the Nozomi train), you'll see stops at both Shinagawa and Shin-Yokohama Stations. 2 Link to comment

Guest keio6000
If they were to do this video in 2013 (and they filmed on board the Nozomi train), you'll see stops at both Shinagawa and Shin-Yokohama Stations. and basically no color JR/JNR emus other than "silver with a stripe." to me, this was the golden age of train liveries.. one that started its slow decline when the 205-series entered service. great videos! any links to other quality cab view shinkansen videos would be much appreciated. those are rather hard to come by on youtube, probably because such understakings require coordination with jr. would particularly like to see: - akita shinkansen in snow, complete with nicely handled direction change between akita and omagari - tokaido shinkansen, boring as it is, but in real high def with a maximum of traffic and services shown, preferably from a few years ago when it wasnt all 700 variants as it is now. any links appreciated. also would like to see HQ / long / nocut versions of: - hokutetsu express hokuhoku line - tokyo metro ginza line (there are currently a few low quality / shaky versions) - tokyo metro marunouchi line (ditto) - haruka airport express (there are some good ones but of an older generation of quality) - any old tokyo private line operations keio-odakyu-seibu especially (there are already quite a few keikyu) - any old tokyo streetcar operation, the older the better - old yamanote, chuo, etc. Edited September 19, 2013 by keio6000 Link to comment
