Add to that the value of any gold, diamonds, etc.added for cosmetics. Rolex (for example) makes the most profit on its blingy diamond encrusted gold watches favored by rappers, sports heroes, and like, which have similar prices to the watch above. A simple stainless steel version of the same Rolex model will have a price 1/4 of the bejeweled one, and in the long term, has more cachet and class, IMO. Of course, your drug store Timex quartz or Casio G-shock will tell the time more accurately than most vanity watches that cost the equivalent of a car or house. Link to comment
